Primorus has opened a new purpose built 10-12 bedded research unit 200m from Christchurch Hospital in the first quarter 2010. Confidence shown from Biotech and Pharmaceutical companies has allowed us to build this world class facility and we are appreciative of the continued work from these sponsors.
Primorus came to fruition as the result of MBA research in 2005 which highlighted the growing need for world class facilities and processes enabling regional specialists to conduct early phase clinical trials. Based on a business model successful in Australia, Primorus is working hard to provide the facilities and resources to conduct high quality studies while partnering with specialists in Canterbury.
Early phase clinical trials require an exceptional level of training and skill. Our staff are trained to instructor level in emergency care and life support, GCP and Clinical Trial Management. We provide training to staff involved in medical research in order to stimulate the growth and quality of Clinical Research in NZ. We provide trials to Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency (MHRA) guidelines standards for conducting First in Human Trials1.
